... Heather Solomon does it for me. She had me at the word '<style>'. Heather is a coworker and does wonders with the initial Forms I stub out in ASP.NET. She recently did a once-over on a project and I felt like I had just had an extreme makeover, Developer's Edition. We have another really good web designer, Chris Lasley, that I've had the pleasure of working with and he just blows me away with his CSS wonders. I enjoy working with both.
Anyway, this post isn't an attempt to sell Heather's work or Chris' (okay, it might be), but rather, my attempt at making a point. Some of us developer's need to know when to let go when it comes to web design. Those Red colors and Size +6 Fonts aren't doing it for me, you know? Or those, monotone drab black Times New Roman paragraphs put-me-to-sleep sections are doing just that! I remember the days when I didn't have the luxury of such great resources and some of you don't today. However, the time spent in attempting to create order out of a chaotic Form could be used in bettering your code. The actual cost of hiring a web designer compared to your time invested would surprise you. With the further seperation of Code Behind and HTML coming in November, it makes it even easier for us all to get along.
Here are some of Heather's recent posts related to CSS / HTML that I've enjoyed:
I would give you some references to Chris' CSS / HTML links, but his blog is related to Star Gazing and Reef Tanks, which are really cool hobbies. Plus, I'm sure he prefers to forget us devie-types as much as possible:
So, Here's to the Web-Designer-Artsy-Fartsy-Types. You make the world go around for us developer-types.
Thanks for all that you do! Rock On!
