Save $10 Without SnagIT Promotional Code

That's right. There's no need to even use a Promotional Code for SnagIT now. I know of at least two alternatives that most folks don't even know about! It's so off-the-radar I would consider them secretive. You probably have read my previous postings concerning promotional codes and discounts here, here and here.

Do you really want to know what I found out?

Click here then ==> Tell me about the Free alternatives and the $19.95 one!!!

It's Official - Upgraded Blog & New Diggs

This past weekend I upgraded this blog. I run my blog on subText, a fork of the old .TEXT blogging platform. I went from version 1.9.3 to 2.1.2 and it wasn't a smooth migration path, let me tell you.

At the same time, I moved all of my websites (including this blog) from webhost4life to the fairly new WinHost.com. These guys are doing it all right. It fits exactly what I was needing and has cut my hosting cost in half. They bill on a monthly basis and have top quality support. The control panel is very simple but yet powerful. I went with the basic plan. However, they do provide an advanced plan as well. Some of the issues I ran across with my subText upgrade dealt with going from an IIS 6 platform to an IIS 7 platform. If anyone else is looking to do the same leave a comment and I'll fill you in on what I had to do to make it happen.

Anyways, I'm a happy camper now. Glad to have the migration behind me.

Scott Hanselman documented it best on his blog recently Windows 7 has built-in virtualization and provides a way to boot from them. Check it out on Hanselman's posting...

SNAGIT 9 and Discount Promotional Code

SNAGIT version 9 has been released. The initial price appears to be $49.95. The upgrade price (from version 8, until August 12, 2008) is only $19.95. I have not upgraded yet myself. If you are not upgrading then the price is pretty steep and I would use a promotional code from them. [CLICK HERE] to find my most current information regarding codes and information for SnagIt.

Otherwise, if you have read my two previous postings regarding version 8 you were able to get it for $20.

I HIGHLY recommend that you check out an alternative called CamStudio Pro. I understand that it has the features of Camtasia but not at the $300 price tag. In fact, YOU CAN GET IT FOR ONLY $19.95. Read the following links to find out how to Snag Your Copy (no pun intended).

http://www.waynester.net/blog/archive/2007/08/01/SNAGIT-by-TechSmith-for-20.aspx

http://www.waynester.net/blog/archive/2007/03/08/5688.aspx

To quickly get to the CamStudio Pro sales page click HERE

[update] - apparently TechSmith has reinstated the promotional code: **** (CLICK HERE to get this code) for version 9! So, instead of $49.95 you can get SnagIT version 9 for $39.95. However, I still recommend trying out the alternative (CamStudio Pro) for only $19.95.

SNAGIT by TechSmith for only $20?

[CLICK HERE] to get the most current SnagIt Promotional Codes I have available. I believe TechSmith frowns on me disclosing these methods so I'm making it a Click-Per-Request approach.

I posted a few weeks ago on how to get SNAGIT from TechSmith for $29.95 with a promotion code of '****' (CLICK HERE to get this code). Many folks left comments thanking me for saving them money. Well, fellow blogger Nick has alerted us to a way to get SNAGIT for only $19.95 ! I'm not sure how long this will last, but it is sure worth the effort. Here's how to get SNAGIT for $19.95 ...

Give this one a try, SnagIt 7.2.5 was being given away on a magazine, CD, here is the URL to register for a key. You should then be able to use that key to upgrade to 8.2 for $19.95 :D

No specific terms that I can see there that suggest this is not allowed.

CLICK HERE to get the URL for this method

Let me and others know how it goes

[update] With TechSmith's latest upgrade AND PRICE INCREASE to $49.95 I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you try out the alternative below. With the 60 day no-questions-asked guarantee AND for only $19.95 (could easily be $300) You cannot go wrong!

[alternative] For $29.95 you may want to check out a Camtasia alternative - CamStudio Pro. I understand it has many similar features but not the heavy price tag of $300! You can find it by clicking ==> HERE <== Again, Only $29.95! [update] I just found out a way to get CamStudio Pro for only $19.95! Close the window of the sales page. A virtual sales agent will display, click CANCEL and it will offer a link to purchase for $19.95. You get a 100% money back guarantee for 60 days - can't go wrong there. Again, I've heard this has some pretty sweet features from some colleagues.

Microsoft SURFACE - "Hands-on" Computing

Perhaps the biggest leap in technology was announced two weeks ago by Microsoft. Microsoft SURFACE takes the computer to a much more user-friendly level. When you watch the video of the applications currently out there you'll comprehend the potential. I see similarities in what Steve Jobs is doing with the iPhone. However, the SURFACE is a Personal Computer on a desktop surface - an appliance, if you will. This is something I would expect from Apple. It looks like Microsoft had this one under wraps for a while.

It is still a ways from being affordable to the average home user, mostly commercial end-users right now. However, as Bill Gates points out - it's a matter of time before prices dip affordably for all of us. Entertainment will be much more enjoyable with this technology out there.

I just read a posting by Keith Richie that explains his typical work day. He explains how he has a two hour decompression time and then "disengages" from work totally. The rest of the day is devoted to his family. It is well written from the heart and has caused me to think of incorporating something similar. I have a coworker that does something similar. We three have something in common, working from home or remote. I have a small office outside of my home about 3 blocks away. So, it can be difficult seperating work from family - mainly because I take my laptop home with me. I am strongly considering opting for a desktop with our next corporate PC upgrades. About three years ago, I made a major leap toward this seperation of work from family life. I removed my workstation and geeked-up PC from my home (with the help of an F3 tornado that damaged our home :o) ). The only computer we have in the home is my wife's home business PC. I'm not saying that having a computer in the home is a bad thing. Like a television, it must be managed instead of it managing you. For me, having 5 children, this is a very important season in my life to invest in my children and wife. One way I am helping my children learn computer skills and earning a living is a project we all are doing together - http://HomeBiz.Waynester.Net . With the help of eBay and OneSource (product sourcing company) they are learning that they can have a leg up in savings when it comes time for college, a car and spending money.

SNAGIT from TechSmith

I just purchased a copy of SnagIt from TechSmith. I can't remember if it was Hanselman or AC (Andrew Connell) that first turned me onto this software gadget - but I'm glad I found it. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it provides screen video capture as well as screen captures. It does more than first impressions. I look forward to using it and adding it to my gadget toolbox.

Also, I wanted to pass this on to anyone who is interested in purchasing SnagIt. I, being frugal (some call me cheap), noticed the promotional code before the purchase. So, what did I do? I GOOGLED the term 'SnagIt promotional code' and found a $10 discount out there (code: **** [click here]). Funny thing is, it was supposed to have expired in June of last year. So, what should have been a $39 purchase was only $29 out of my PayPal account. A little money matters tip from the Waynester.

[update] With TechSmith's latest upgrade AND PRICE INCREASE to $49.95 I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you try out the alternative below. With the 60 day no-questions-asked guarantee AND for only $19.95 (that should be $300) You cannot go wrong!

[update] If you are interested in getting SNAGIT for $19.95 check out my posting at http://www.waynester.net/blog/archive/2007/08/01/SNAGIT-by-TechSmith-for-20.aspx

p.s. (shameless plug) If you would like to see how I have used SNAGIT to bring in tons of passive income, click on the following link: http://BuyLowResellHigh.com (scroll down to the YouTube videos); This is something I put together one week and am still receiving orders from customers. AND IT IS ALL AUTOMATED! Gotta Love SnagIt, YouTube and ClickBank. You can register for my free newsletter full of great tips by sending a blank email to ebiznewsletter @ aweber[dot]com.
