Save $10 Without SnagIT Promotional Code

That's right. There's no need to even use a Promotional Code for SnagIT now. I know of at least two alternatives that most folks don't even know about! It's so off-the-radar I would consider them secretive. You probably have read my previous postings concerning promotional codes and discounts here, here and here.

Do you really want to know what I found out?

Click here then ==> Tell me about the Free alternatives and the $19.95 one!!!

SNAGIT 9 and Discount Promotional Code

SNAGIT version 9 has been released. The initial price appears to be $49.95. The upgrade price (from version 8, until August 12, 2008) is only $19.95. I have not upgraded yet myself. If you are not upgrading then the price is pretty steep and I would use a promotional code from them. [CLICK HERE] to find my most current information regarding codes and information for SnagIt.

Otherwise, if you have read my two previous postings regarding version 8 you were able to get it for $20.

I HIGHLY recommend that you check out an alternative called CamStudio Pro. I understand that it has the features of Camtasia but not at the $300 price tag. In fact, YOU CAN GET IT FOR ONLY $19.95. Read the following links to find out how to Snag Your Copy (no pun intended).

http://www.waynester.net/blog/archive/2007/08/01/SNAGIT-by-TechSmith-for-20.aspx

http://www.waynester.net/blog/archive/2007/03/08/5688.aspx

To quickly get to the CamStudio Pro sales page click HERE

[update] - apparently TechSmith has reinstated the promotional code: **** (CLICK HERE to get this code) for version 9! So, instead of $49.95 you can get SnagIT version 9 for $39.95. However, I still recommend trying out the alternative (CamStudio Pro) for only $19.95.

SNAGIT by TechSmith for only $20?

[CLICK HERE] to get the most current SnagIt Promotional Codes I have available. I believe TechSmith frowns on me disclosing these methods so I'm making it a Click-Per-Request approach.

I posted a few weeks ago on how to get SNAGIT from TechSmith for $29.95 with a promotion code of '****' (CLICK HERE to get this code). Many folks left comments thanking me for saving them money. Well, fellow blogger Nick has alerted us to a way to get SNAGIT for only $19.95 ! I'm not sure how long this will last, but it is sure worth the effort. Here's how to get SNAGIT for $19.95 ...

Give this one a try, SnagIt 7.2.5 was being given away on a magazine, CD, here is the URL to register for a key. You should then be able to use that key to upgrade to 8.2 for $19.95 :D

No specific terms that I can see there that suggest this is not allowed.

CLICK HERE to get the URL for this method

Let me and others know how it goes

[update] With TechSmith's latest upgrade AND PRICE INCREASE to $49.95 I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you try out the alternative below. With the 60 day no-questions-asked guarantee AND for only $19.95 (could easily be $300) You cannot go wrong!

[alternative] For $29.95 you may want to check out a Camtasia alternative - CamStudio Pro. I understand it has many similar features but not the heavy price tag of $300! You can find it by clicking ==> HERE <== Again, Only $29.95! [update] I just found out a way to get CamStudio Pro for only $19.95! Close the window of the sales page. A virtual sales agent will display, click CANCEL and it will offer a link to purchase for $19.95. You get a 100% money back guarantee for 60 days - can't go wrong there. Again, I've heard this has some pretty sweet features from some colleagues.

What One Last Mortgage Payment Looks Like

\

We have reached a milestone in our life at the Larimore household. Please do not take this as boasting, because I am not. About three years ago my wife enrolled us in a Dave Ramsey financial peace seminar. I was not too thrilled about the deal to be honest. But since that very first class I saw debt in a new light. Granted, my wife and I did not have a huge amount of debt incurred. Still, we had the typical mortgage, credit card and non-budgeted approach to life. We also had 4 children then came five :o) What we were given was knowledge, tools to solve our problem and hope that it could be done easier than we thought. Three years later we are looking at the fruits of our labor. As you can see above, we are about to pay our last mortgage payment!

<rant>The majority of people in the United States have succumbed to the fact that having a mortgage their entire life is normal. This was a foreign idea to many of our parents and grandparents. It is entirely possible for you to be out-of-debt. The first step is, You must believe it's possible. Then understand what you are missing out on by accepting debt as normal. When you see that debt puts you into bondage from those things you could otherwise achieve in life, your eyes will be opened. Then you have the desire to want to be out of debt. This gives you the power to start implementing a plan to get out of bondage (debt). </rant>

<additional rant>For an example of how numb folks have become to debt, you can go no further than all the foreclosure articles on moneycentral.msn.com. People who opted for an ARM loan on or after 2003 had no idea that their payments would be more than doubling when the fine print kicked in.</additional rant>

If you are interested in knowing what we learned, check out Dave Ramsey's site. It will definitely improve your lifestyle.

[update 3/15/2008] - I have written a guide that explains how we wiped out over $100,000 in under four years. We have five children and my wife is a stay-at-home mom. You might be able to do better. Here's the special web site I put up where you can find it --> http://www.DebtFreeFiveKids.com

Balancing Work With Family Life

I just read a posting by Keith Richie that explains his typical work day. He explains how he has a two hour decompression time and then "disengages" from work totally. The rest of the day is devoted to his family. It is well written from the heart and has caused me to think of incorporating something similar. I have a coworker that does something similar. We three have something in common, working from home or remote. I have a small office outside of my home about 3 blocks away. So, it can be difficult seperating work from family - mainly because I take my laptop home with me. I am strongly considering opting for a desktop with our next corporate PC upgrades. About three years ago, I made a major leap toward this seperation of work from family life. I removed my workstation and geeked-up PC from my home (with the help of an F3 tornado that damaged our home :o) ). The only computer we have in the home is my wife's home business PC. I'm not saying that having a computer in the home is a bad thing. Like a television, it must be managed instead of it managing you. For me, having 5 children, this is a very important season in my life to invest in my children and wife. One way I am helping my children learn computer skills and earning a living is a project we all are doing together - http://HomeBiz.Waynester.Net . With the help of eBay and OneSource (product sourcing company) they are learning that they can have a leg up in savings when it comes time for college, a car and spending money.

SNAGIT from TechSmith

I just purchased a copy of SnagIt from TechSmith. I can't remember if it was Hanselman or AC (Andrew Connell) that first turned me onto this software gadget - but I'm glad I found it. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it provides screen video capture as well as screen captures. It does more than first impressions. I look forward to using it and adding it to my gadget toolbox.

Also, I wanted to pass this on to anyone who is interested in purchasing SnagIt. I, being frugal (some call me cheap), noticed the promotional code before the purchase. So, what did I do? I GOOGLED the term 'SnagIt promotional code' and found a $10 discount out there (code: **** [click here]). Funny thing is, it was supposed to have expired in June of last year. So, what should have been a $39 purchase was only $29 out of my PayPal account. A little money matters tip from the Waynester.

[update] With TechSmith's latest upgrade AND PRICE INCREASE to $49.95 I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you try out the alternative below. With the 60 day no-questions-asked guarantee AND for only $19.95 (that should be $300) You cannot go wrong!

During the month of July 2006, for 7 nights, I was busy remodeling my office. During the day, I would work from Panera Bread via wireless connection. With the help of some very good friends it came out looking pretty good.

Here are some pictures of before:

I would like to thank those that helped out. It would have never gotten done without your involvement - I feel loved ;-)

Paula Kaye Compton for seeing the vision before any of us ever did (designer)

Odus Compton - removed old fluorescent lighting units, drywall prep, can and pendant lighting

Jerry Martin - electrical wiring

Terry & Cyndi Myers - wood flooring, baseboard, drywall, furniture moving

Larry “the other cable guy” - discovered and repaired a collapsed a/c duct - I'm really much cooler now :-)

My wife (Tina) and mother-in-law (Barbara) - painting and design input, finding the "tomato snuggle chair" and other accessories at incredible prices

Me (pat on back) - everything including texturing, scraping ceiling of old popcorn texture and hand-texturing of ceiling and walls (in my own artistic way [fyi - a rendition of my lovely wife is textured somewhere in my office, if you ever visit]).

Extra Income - Will Work For Gasoline

Lately, I've been dabbling into making a little money on the side. I've got a full-time day job so time spent is after-hours. My main motivation has been to pay-down our debt. Lord willing, we'll be totally debt-free (including mortgage) in April 2007. One of my mentors, Jim Cockrum, has helped me come up with some Creative ideas. We recently exchanged emails and I found out he has five children like myself. His popular ebook titled The Silent Sales Machine Hiding on eBay opened my eyes to several revenue streams. If you've noticed my eBay banner on the upper-left corner you know that I sell on eBay. What you may not know is that those items are not making me a whole lot of money. It's what I learned from Jim's eBook that brings in the profits on steriods. He recently posted an article on his blog named Jim’s top traffic generation tips

If you are interested in some creative ideas on earning extra income check out Jim's eBook (link below). If you purchase this month, you'll get his new upcoming book free.

Imagine getting gas for free by using someone else's SpeedPass card using a cracked “secret” code. Three John Hopkins University graduate students proved it could be done back in 2004. It exposes the need for RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) to evolve into higher levels of security. With gas prices at outrageous highs, it's certainly an issue of the times.
